OMIWA Foundation is an international non-profit organization dedicated to bridging the healthcare gap in remote Nigerian villages.

We launched OMIWA Foundation in 2020 after the onset of the COVID ’19 pandemic and the severe impact of the government mandated shutdown. The suddenness and magnitude of the COVID ’19 impact was overwhelming for government agencies and parastatals. The folks in the rural communities who were already in the lowest rung of poverty scale, became unfortunate victims of this deadly pandemic. OMIWA Foundation strives to bring free medical treatment to indigent population in rural Nigeria. We realized that continue neglect of these underserved health population will not only create breeding ground for future pandemic, but eventually destabilize our way of life in the West. So, we appeal to the heart of humanity to help us reach these poor communities in Third World nations before it is too late.

Vision.

Our vision is to develop the healthcare delivery infrastructure as we tend the immediate health needs of these rural underserved communities. Our approach is to coordinate efforts of all stakeholders to bring basic interventions to common illness that impairs the normal lives of the indigent population.

Our Work.

As a community-based non-profit with a focus on the healthcare of indigent population in rural communities, we have assembled a robust volunteer medical team consisting of physcians, general surgeons, dentists, nurses, physical therapist and support staff. In our first year of operation, we carried out medical outreach to six communities in Aniocha local government area of Delta State. We were initially focused on health screening for illness that were prevalent and untreated: Hypertension, Diabetics, Nutritional counseling, Intestinal parasites, Vision care, Pain management, Prescription medication. Over the past four years, we have expanded our services and increased our footprint to other local government area in Delta State of Nigeria.

With the generous support we received from numerous donors, we have expanded our services to include surgeries, pre-natal care, HIV testing and pediatric immunization. To date, we have treated over five thousand patients, including children.
